Basic Computer Cables and Interfaces
Registered jack connectors, or RJ connectors, are commonly found in the telecommunications industry. An rj45 connector is frequently used in Ethernet networking cables. This jack resembles a land line telephone jack, but is noticeably bigger. It also features a thicker cable and more conductors on each connector. An RJ45 connector is used to provide a standard interface for networking equipment. Networking equipment is used to send data packets to and from computers. This allows resources to be shared between computers. For example, a basic network might share one thing, like a printer. More advanced networks might feature a structured hierarchy, with a server determining how resources are allocated among dozens of client computers. The internet is an example of a very complex network. When a web browser attempts to access a web page, it is really making a request to a web server. This request is met by a copy of the web page being sent to the web browser.
